Barbecued Brisket(This Is Really Great!!!)
- 5 to 7 lb. brisket
- 2 Tbsp. liquid smoke
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- 6 Tbsp. butter
- 1 (14 oz.) bottle catsup
- 4 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. liquid smoke
- pinch of salt and pepper
- 2 tsp. celery seed
- 1/2 c. water
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 3 tsp. dry mustard
- 2 tsp. dried onion flakes
- Rub 2 tablespoons liquid smoke over well trimmed brisket and refrigerate overnight.
- Season with garlic and/or onion powder. Wrap in foil.
- Bake 5 hours in a 300u0b0 oven.
- Refrigerate and slice when cool.
- Combine remaining ingredients and simmer until hot. Bake brisket in sauce for 30 minutes in a 350u0b0 oven (or you can serve along side).
- I had to learn how to make barbecue when we came to Texas and this is by far the best I've found.
