Diet Cinnamon-Raisin Yogurt Biscuits

  1. In a small bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon.
  2. In a large bowl, combine half the sugar-cinnamon mixture, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  3. Cut butter into flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Make a well in the center.
  5. Add yogurt and raisins all at once, stirring just until dough clings together.
  6. On a lightly floured surface, knead gently for 8 to 10 strokes.
  7. Roll or pat dough to 1/2-inch thickness.
  8. Cut with a 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter, dipping the cutter into the flour between cuts.
  9. Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet.
  10. Sprinkle with the remaining sugar-cinnamon mixture.
  11. Bake at 450u0b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
  12. Remove from baking sheet and cool slightly on wire racks.
  13. Stir together the powdered sugar and orange juice to make a drizzling consistency.
  14. Drizzle over each biscuit while it's warm.
  15. Serve warm.
  16. Makes 12 biscuits.
