Cheesy Broccoli Bake
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. Stove Top (chicken flavor)
- 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen broccoli spears or fresh broccoli
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 chicken bouillon, crushed
- 4 green onions and tops, sliced
- 1 c. shredded Swiss or Cheddar cheese
- paprika
- Combine 1/4 cup butter, water and contents of stuffing mix seasoning packet in pan.
- Stir and bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and add crumbs.
- Let stand 5 minutes.
- Stir mixture and spoon along both sides of a 2-quart baking dish.
- Arrange broccoli down center.
- Sprinkle with salt.
- Melt 2 tablespoons butter and stir in flour.
- Remove from heat, adding cream cheese.
- Stir until smooth. Add milk and bouillon.
- Return to heat and cook, stirring constantly.
- Add green onions.
- Spoon sauce over broccoli; sprinkle with cheese.
- Cover and bake at 350u0b0 for 40 minutes, until broccoli is tender.
- Sprinkle with paprika.
- Yield:
- 6 servings.
