Old Fashioned Butterscotch Meringue Pie

  1. Combine brown sugar, flour and salt in medium size saucepan; gradually stir in milk.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil and is thickened.
  3. Boil 1 minute; remove from heat.
  4. Slowly stir into egg substitutes, about 1/2 cup of hot mixture; slowly stir back into remaining mixture in saucepan.
  5. Cook, stirring constantly, over low heat, 2 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Stir in margarine, vanilla and maple flavoring; pour into pie shell.
