World'S Best Oatmeal Cookies

  1. Combine eggs, raisins and vanilla and let stand at least 2 hours or overnight.
  2. When ready to make cookies, cream together shortening, brown sugar and white sugar.
  3. Sift salt, soda, cinnamon and flour.
  4. Stir flour mixture into sugar-shortening mixture and blend well.
  5. Beat egg-raisin mixture into mixture. Add oatmeal and chopped nuts.
  6. Dough will be stiff.
  7. Chill dough for a better shaped cookie.
  8. Drop dough by spoonful on cool ungreased cookie sheet.
  9. Bake at 325u0b0 for approximately 10 to 12 minutes.
  10. Do not overbake.
  11. This is a chewy cookie.
