Rocky Road Brownies
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. (1 c.) semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/3 c. butter or margarine
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 c. chopped nuts
- 1/2 c. tiny marshmallows
- In a heavy small saucepan heat and stir 1/2 cup of the chocolate pieces over low heat until melted.
- Remove from heat and cool slightly.
- Meanwhile, stir together flour and baking powder. In a small mixer bowl beat butter or margarine until softened. Add sugar and beat until well combined.
- Add eggs and vanilla and beat well.
- Beat in melted chocolate.
- Add flour mixture and beat until well mixed.
- Spread in a greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Bake in a 350u0b0 oven for 20 minutes.
- On baked base, layer remaining chocolate pieces, nuts and marshmallows.
- Bake 5 to 10 minutes more or until marshmallows are golden.
- Cool.
- Cut into bars.
- Makes 24.
