Sausage Gravy And Biscuits
- Gravy
- 1/3 cup butter or 1/3 cup margarine
- 1/3 cup flour
- 3 cups milk
- 1/2 lb ground sausage, precooked
- salt and pepper, to taste
- Biscuits
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- Gravy:.
- Melt butter. Add flour. Mix well until no lumps are left.
- Gradually add milk to make a thick gravy. Add sausage, salt and pepper to taste.
- Biscuits:.
- Combine all dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add milk.
- Roll out and cut into desired size.
- Bake at 450 degrees for about 12 minutes.
- To serve- split biscuits and top with sausage gravy.
