Turkey Wild Rice Soup

  1. In large saucepan, combine broth and water.
  2. Add rice and onion; simmer 30 to 40 minutes or until rice is tender.
  3. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
  4. In medium saucepan, melt butter; stir in flour, salt, poultry seasoning and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly.
  5. Add half and half; cook 2 minutes until mixture thickens slightly, stirring constantly.
  6. Slowly add half and half mixture to rice mixture.
  7. Add remaining ingredients; heat thoroughly.
  8. Garnish with bacon or parsley.
  9. Makes 8 (1 1/2 cup) servings.
