Gumdrop Cake

  1. Mix baking soda in hot water; set aside.
  2. Crem butter and sugar together; add beaten eggs.
  3. Mix completely; set aside.
  4. Cut gumdrops into 2 cups of flour.
  5. Add applesauce to flour; mix well. Add raisins; mix well.
  6. Add walnuts and mix well.
  7. Add butter mixture; mix well.
  8. Add flour with gumdrops; mix well.
  9. Add soda and water; mix well.
  10. Bake in a well-greased and floured angel food cake pan.
  11. Bake at 300u0b0 to 325u0b0 for 2 hours.
  12. Cool in pan. Run knife around the sides to loosen.
  13. Remove carefully from pan.
