Christmas Plum Pudding
- 1 1/2 c. seedless raisins
- 1 1/2 c. currants
- 1/2 c. chopped nutmeats
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 3/4 c. molasses
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. finely chopped suet
- 1/4 c. fruit juice
- 1 c. fine bread crumbs
- 3/4 tsp. soda
- 1/4 tsp. cloves
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- Combine raisins, currants, nutmeats and 1/2 cup flour. Combine eggs, molasses, buttermilk, suet and fruit juice.
- Combine remaining flour, bread crumbs, soda, spice and salt.
- Pour into 1 1/2-quart mold.
- Cover mold; set in deep kettle.
- Add water to 1-inch below cover of mold.
- Cover and steam 2 hours.
