Country Dinner Rolls

  1. Pour boiling water over oats; cool.
  2. Add oil, yeast (softened in 1/3 cup water), molasses, brown sugar, egg and salt.
  3. Beat in 1/2 flour to make soft dough.
  4. Add bacon and onion pieces.
  5. Add remaining flour; knead until smooth.
  6. Cover bowl with foil.
  7. Let dough rise until double in bulk.
  8. Punch down; let rise again.
