Slow-Cooked Pepper Steak

  1. Cut beef into 3 x 1-inch strips; brown in oil in a skillet. Transfer to a slow cooker.
  2. Combine next 7 ingredients; pour over beef.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours or until meat is tender.
  4. Add tomatoes and green peppers; cook on low for 1 hour longer.
  5. Combine water and cornstarch to make a paste.
  6. Stir into liquid in slow cooker and cook on high until thickened.
  7. Serve over noodles or rice.
  8. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
