Hazelnut Cookies

  1. Combine flour, baking powder and dash of salt; set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat margarine with electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds.
  3. Add sugar; beat until fluffy.
  4. Add egg, orange or lemon peel and vanilla; beat well.
  5. Stir in juice, then flour mixture and ground nuts and dates.
  6. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet.
  7. If desired, to each add a whole nut on top.
  8. Bake at 350u0b0 for 10 to 12 minutes, or until edges begin to brown.
  9. Transfer to a wire rack.
  10. Cool.
  11. Makes 48 cookies.
