Perfect Chocolate Cake
- 1 c. cocoa
- 2 c. boiling water
- 2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. butter Crisco
- 4 whole eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- Beat
- cocoa and boiling water with wire whip, let cool. Sift flour
- before
- measuring,
- then sift baking soda, baking powder and salt; sift together.
- Beat sugar, Crisco, eggs and vanilla; beat 5 minutes.
- Beat in flour and cocoa mixture (in fours) start with
- cocoa
- and end with flour; beat but do not overbeat.
- Pour in
- 3
- layer
- cake pans and bake in 350u0b0 oven until
- done.
- Put cream
- cheese
- frosting
- between
- layers of completely cooled cake and chocolate frosting on top.
