Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Heat oven to 375u0b0.
  2. Combine shortening, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl; beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended.
  3. Beat egg into creamed mixture.
  4. Combine flour, salt and baking soda.
  5. Mix into creamed mixture just until blended.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough, 3 inches apart, onto ungreased baking sheet.
  8. Bake at 375u0b0 for 8 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies, or 11 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies.
  9. Do not overbake.
  10. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet.
  11. Remove to cool completely.
  12. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
