Lemon Tea Bread

  1. Combine the first 3 ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Cover; let stand 5 minutes.
  4. Cool.
  5. Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating well.
  6. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
  7. Combine the next 3 ingredients; add to butter mixture alternately with milk mixture, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
  8. Mix after each addition.
  9. Stir in lemon rind.
