Key Lime Pie

  1. In saucepan,
  2. combine
  3. 1/2 cup sugar, gelatin and salt. Beat egg yolks,time
  4. peel,
  5. lime
  6. juice and water until well blended. Stir
  7. into
  8. gelatin.
  9. cook
  10. and
  11. stir
  12. until mixture thickens slightly.
  13. Remove from heat, stir in food coloring to tint green. Chill until partially set, stirring mix occasionally.
  14. Beat egg whites
  15. totoft peaks. Gradually add 1/2 cup sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
  16. Fold lime mixture into whites, whip cream
  17. to soft
  18. peaks,
  19. fold and chill until mix mounds.
  20. Fill
  21. into crumb
  22. crust.
  23. Garnish
  24. with
  25. chocolate shavings.
