Lasagna
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 Tbsp. oil
- 1 lb. ground beef (round)
- 1/2 lb. ground pork shoulder
- 2 (4 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1/2 can water
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce
- 1/4 tsp. oregano
- 1/4 tsp. basil
- 1 bay leaf
- freshly ground pepper
- 1 box lasagna pasta
- 1 pkg. Mozzarella cheese
- 1 pkg. Ricotta cheese, beaten with 1 egg until smooth
- Romano cheese, grated
- Mash garlic clove with salt; brown with chopped onion in oil. Add ground beef and pork; cook until meat is done.
- Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste and water.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, oregano, basil, bay leaf and pepper; simmer for 45 minutes. Cook and drain lasagna noodles (add small amount of oil to water while cooking).
- Alternate layers of sauce, pasta, Mozzarella cheese and Ricotta cheese, beginning and ending with sauce.
- Top with a generous sprinkling of grated Romano cheese.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 1/2 hour.
- Cool 10 minutes before cutting.
