Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Brownies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Generously grease& flour an 8" square baking pan.
  3. Cream butter using an electric mixer.
  4. Add peanut butter and beat until blended, scraping down the sides of the bowl with a spatula as needed.
  5. Beat in brown sugar.
  6. Beat in 1 egg at a time, then add the vanilla.
  7. In another bowl, sift together the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  8. Add the flour mixture to the peanut butter mixture and beat until blended.
  9. Using a wooden spoon, stir in the chocolate chips.
  10. Spread evenly into the prepared pan and bake about 37-55 minutes, or until top is lightly browned all over and no longer shiny, and a toothpick poked in the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs stuck to it (as opposed to wet and goopy batter); check early - the earlier you pull them out of the oven, the more moist they will be.
  11. Let cool before cutting; they should be like moist, fudgey brownies in texture and they will firm up when they are fully cooled.
