Lasagne(Lite Cooking)
- 1 c. chopped onions
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp. Crisco oil
- 1 lb. extra lean ground beef
- 2 (14 1/2 oz. each) cans stewed tomatoes (no salt)
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 2 tsp. dried basil leaves, crushed
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 2 c. low-fat cottage cheese
- 1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
- 8 oz. wide lasagne noodles
- 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded low moisture part skim Mozzarella cheese
- Cook and stir onions and garlic in Crisco until tender.
- Add ground beef and drain if necessary.
- Add tomatoes and tomato paste, basil, oregano, sugar and pepper.
- Stir until well blended. Simmer 30 minutes.
- Combine cottage cheese, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese and parsley; set aside.
- Cook noodles 7 minutes in unsalted boiling water.
- Drain.
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- Layer all ingredients in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
- Top with sauce and Mozzarella cheese. Bake 45 minutes.
- Makes 12 servings.
