Short Ribs With Korean-Style Marinade
- 1/4 c. soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. sesame oil
- 2 tsp. sesame seed
- 2 tsp. white vinegar or rice wine vinegar
- 5 garlic cloves, pressed
- 2 tsp. minced ginger
- ground black pepper
- 18 scallions, trimmed
- 6 (1 to 1 1/2-inch) inch beef short ribs or 1 to 1 1/2 lb. flank steak or other beef
- Combine all ingredients in a large Ziploc bag. In it place the meat to be marinated.
- Marinate overnight, turning bag occasionally.
- Remove meat from marinade.
- Place marinade in a saucepan and bring to a boil, reducing slightly.
- Grill meat over charcoal, basting with marinade.
- Grill scallions during last 4 to 5 minutes of cooking time.
