2 Step Devil'S Food Cake

  1. Combine cocoa and 4 tablespoons sugar and water in saucepan. Cook over low flame until thick and shining, stirring constantly. Let stand until cold, stirring occasionally.
  2. Add vanilla.
  3. Sift flour; measure and add baking powder, soda and salt.
  4. Mix well. Cream butter thoroughly.
  5. Add sugar gradually; cream well until light and fluffy.
  6. Add eggs; beat well.
  7. Add cocoa mixture; beat well.
  8. Add flour alternately with milk; beat well.
  9. Bake at 350u0b0 until done.
