Dried Peach Roll

  1. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
  2. Cut in shortening and add milk to make a dough.
  3. Roll out on a well floured board or pastry cloth.
  4. Roll dough to 18 inches long and 12-13 inches wide.
  5. Spread sweetened peaches to within 1/2 inch of the edge.
  6. Cut up 1/2 stick of margarine and place on top of peaches.
  7. Roll up 1/2 of dough from one side and then roll up to meet and pinch together.
  8. Seal ends.
  9. Bake until brown in a well greased cobbler pan large enough to hold the sauce.
  10. After it is baked, add 3/4 stick of margarine, 1-1/4 cup sugar,
  11. 1-1/4 cup water.
  12. Put back in oven and let boil 8-10 minutes.
