Glorified Cabbage

  1. Melt butter in saucepan; add flour, salt, pepper and mustard. Cook, stirring constantly until bubbly.
  2. Add milk gradually. Cook, stirring, until thickened.
  3. Stir small amount of milk mixture into egg yolk; stir egg mixture into milk mixture in saucepan.
  4. Cook for 1 minute longer.
  5. Layer half the cabbage, onion, cheese and cream sauce in baking dish; repeat layer.
  6. Top with crumbs.
  7. Bake, covered, in 375u0b0 oven for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove cover; bake for 5 minutes longer.
  9. Yields 4 to 6 servings.
