Swedish Nuts
- 1 lb. pecan halves
- 2 egg whites
- 1 c. sugar
- dash of salt
- 1/2 c. butter
- 10 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
- 3 egg yolks
- 3 1/2 Tbsp. heavy cream
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. anisette liqueur
- 2 oz. unsalted butter, softened
- cocoa for dusting
- 4 very large cooking apples, preferably Northern Spy
- 1 3/4 c. brown sugar
- scant 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- speck of salt
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 3/4 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. (1/4 stick) butter
- ground cinnamon
- ice cream or half and half
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- Core and quarter the apples; do not peel.
- Place the apples in a 3-quart buttered baking dish.
