Triple Treats Candy
- 1 (11 1/2 oz.) pkg. milk chocolate morsels (2 c.)
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable shortening
- 1 (14 oz.) pkg. Kraft caramels
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 c. walnut pieces
- Over hot (not boiling) water, melt chocolate morsels and vegetable shortening.
- Stir until smooth. Remove from heat.
- Pour half the melted chocolate into an 8-inch greased, foil lined pan, spreading evenly. Refrigerate until firm (about 15 minutes). Return remaining chocolate mixture to low heat.
- Melt caramels and margarine with water over low heat, stirring until smooth.
- Stir in walnut pieces until blended.
- Pour into the chocolate lined pan. Spread evenly.
- Refrigerate until tacky, about 15 minutes. Top with remaining chocolate, spreading evenly to cover caramel. Chill until firm.
- Cut into bars.
- Keep refrigerated.
