Kid'S Favorite Fourth Of July Jello
- 2 (3 oz.) pkg. cherry Jell-O
- 2 (3 oz.) pkg. berry blue Jell-O
- 1 bag regular size marshmallows
- 1 container Cool Whip
- 4 c. boiling water
- 2 trays ice cubes (28 to 32 cubes)
- 2 egg whites (room temperature), beat until frothy
- few grains salt
- 1/2 scant tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 c. sugar (regular pure cane, do not use blends such as the U.S. brand)
- 12 oz. bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Add salt and cream of tartar to the egg whites and beat until stiff.
- Slowly add the sugar, beating well as you go along. Mixture will be thick and glossy.
- Add vanilla at the end of beating.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop by teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheets, 1 inch apart.
- Put in oven and turn oven off immediately.
- Leave in oven for 3 to 5 hours (or overnight).
