Mother'S Jam Cake

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add eggs one at a time and beat well.
  3. Put soda in buttermilk and sift together flour, cocoa and spices.
  4. Add alternately with buttermilk and soda, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
  5. Then add jam and preserves, nuts and raisins.
  6. Pour into tube pan lined with greased brown paper.
  7. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350u0b0.
  8. Makes a large cake.
  9. I just grease and flour the pan.
  10. Top with Caramel Frosting.
