Rose'S Legendary Honey Cake
- 5 large eggs, separated, the whites at room temperature
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 C. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. double-acting baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 c. strong flavored honey (preferably buckwheat)
- 1/4 c. double strength brewed coffee
- 1 1/2 tsp. finely grated lemon rind
- 2 tsp. fresh lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp. whiskey
- 3 Tbsp. sliced almonds
- 1 1/2 c. oil
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. flour
- 1-2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 3 c. diced apples
- 1 c. raisins
- 1 c. nuts
- Pour into angel or bundt pan. Bake 350u0b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
