Better-For-You Pound Cake
- 1 pkg. yellow cake mix with pudding
- 1 1/4 c. buttermilk
- 1/3 c. sweetened applesauce
- 4 large egg whites
- 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. nonfat sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 c. sliced almonds, toasted
- Place cake mix, buttermilk, applesauce, egg whites and flour in bowl.
- Blend with mixer on low for 1 minute.
- Increase speed to medium and beat 2 minutes more.
- Pour into a 12-cup bundt pan that has been sprayed with Pam.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 35-40 minutes.
- Cool. Invert cake onto a serving platter.
- Poke hoes in top and sides of cake.
- Brush cake generously all over with the sweetened condensed milk.
- Sprinkle with toasted almonds.
- Lightly cover with plastic wrap and store in refrigerator overnight.
