Apple Cobbler
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1/2 c. white sugar
- 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. plain flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 1/2 to 2 c. sliced, fresh apples
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans (optional)
- 1/2 c. raisins (optional)
- Cream butter, sugar and egg.
- Add vanilla.
- Mix together the dry ingredients and slowly add to butter mixture.
- Add milk to batter, a small amount at a time.
- Place apples in a buttered 9 x 9-inch glass baking dish.
- Sprinkle with 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon.
- Add pecans and raisins, if desired.
- Pour batter over the apple mixture and bake at 350u0b0
- for 45 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean and the crust is a golden brown.
