Mississippi Mud Brownies

  1. Place butter in a 2-quart mixing bowl; microwave at High 1 minute, or until butter melts.
  2. Stir in sugar and eggs; set aside. Combine flour, salt and cocoa; stir well.
  3. Stir dry mixture into egg mixture.
  4. Stir in vanilla and pecans.
  5. Spread batter in a greased and floured 8-inch square baking dish.
  6. Shield corners with triangles of aluminum foil, keeping foil smooth and close to dish.
  7. Place baking dish on a microwave-safe cereal bowl inverted in the oven.
  8. Microwave at Medium (50% power) 6 to 7 minutes, giving dish a half turn after 3 minutes.
  9. Remove shields; microwave at High 2 to 3 minutes, or until top is almost dry.
  10. Remove from oven; place directly on countertop to cool.
