Grandma Church'S Wonderful Fudge
- 1/2 c. butter
- 14 1/2 oz. can evaporated milk
- 4 1/2 c. white sugar
- 1/2 lb. marshmallows
- 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3 (4 oz.) bars sweet chocolate
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- Stir together in a large heavy pot or Dutch oven, over moderate heat, the butter, canned milk and sugar.
- Bring to a boil.
- Cover. Boil 5 minutes and turn off heat.
- Add marshmallows and stir until melted.
- Add the chocolate, one kind at a time, stirring as it melts.
- Add vanilla and nuts.
- Blend.
- Pour into a buttered 10 x 15-inch jelly roll pan and smooth evenly. Let stand until firm, then cut into 1-inch squares.
