Block Party Barbecue
- 6 lb. beef brisket
- 1/4 c. liquid smoke
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. minced onion
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. water
- 1 (32 oz.) bottle Heinz tomato ketchup
- 1 c. reserved meat juices
- 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbsp. white vinegar
- 1 1/2 tsp. prepared mustard
- 1 1/2 tsp. celery salt
- 1 tsp. minced onion
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- Put the first 7 ingredients in a roaster.
- Cover and bake in a 275u0b0 oven until fork-tender, about 5 to 6 hours.
- Reserve 1 cup of meat juices.
- Chill meat for easier slicing.
- Remove excess fat from meat, slice thinly across grain.
