Doubly Delicious Chocolate Cookies
- 1 (24 oz.) pkg. Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- Melt over hot water (not boiling), 1 1/2 cups chocolate morsels; cool to room temperature.
- In small bowl, combine the butter, sugar and vanilla extract.
- Beat until creamy.
- Add melted morsels and eggs; beat until light and fluffy. Gradually blend in flour mixture.
- Stir in remaining 2 1/2 cups chocolate morsels and nuts.
- Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
- Makes 3 1/2 dozen (2 1/2-inch) cookies.
- Allow to stand 2 to 3 minutes before removing from cookie sheets.
