Golden Crisp Brownies
- 2 c. Honey Grahams cereal
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1/3 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1/3 c. butter, melted
- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
- 1/3 c. Crisco
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- Mix slightly crushed cereal, nuts, brown sugar, butter and 2 tablespoons of flour.
- Pat into ungreased square baking pan (9 x 9 x 2-inch).
- Heat chocolate and Crisco in 2-quart saucepan over low heat.
- Stir in remaining ingredients. Spread over layer in pan.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes.
- Loosen edges from pan.
- Invert on wire rack.
- Cool completely.
- Cut into bars (about 2 x 1 1/2-inch).
- Yields 24 bars.
