Fruit Cake
- 1 c. Crisco
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. milk
- 3 c. cake flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 box white raisins
- 1 c. pecans, chopped
- 1/2 c. fig preserves
- 1/2 c. strawberry preserves
- 18 oz. red cherries, chopped
- 18 oz. green cherries, chopped
- 10 oz. candied pineapple, chopped
- Cream Crisco. Gradually add sugar.
- Cream until light and fluffy.
- Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Add eggs, one at a time.
- Mix the two mixtures together.
- Add milk and flavoring. Blend thoroughly. Mix raisins with 2 tablespoons of flour. Warm raisins and then add to mixture.
- Add preserves and cherries. Then add nuts. Bake at 225u0b0 for 1 hour.
- Then turn oven to 275u0b0 until done.
