Cake Brownies

  1. Spray a 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan with nonstick coating; set pan aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the margarine.
  3. Remove from the heat.
  4. Stir in the sugar and cocoa powder until combined.
  5. Add egg white and vanilla to saucepan.
  6. Using a wooden spoon, lightly beat just until combined.
  7. Add flour, milk, baking powder and baking soda.
  8. Beat with the spoon until combined.
  9. Stir in walnuts or pecans.
  10. Spread the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  11. Bake in a 350u0b0 oven for 16 to 18 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  12. Cool in pan on a wire rack.
  13. Sprinkle with the powdered sugar.
  14. Drizzle the Chocolate Icing; let stand for 30 minutes or until icing is set.
  15. Cut into bars.
  16. Makes 24 bars.
