Stuffed Cabbage Rolls
- large green cabbage
- 3/4 lb. hamburger
- 1/2 lb. sausage
- 1 c. raw rice
- 1/2 c. onion
- 1 Tbsp. paprika
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- 1 (16 oz.) can V-8 juice
- 1 1/2 c. water
- Cut center from
- cabbage, chop it and set aside.
- Plunk the head of cabbage into
- a
- large pot with a cup of water and steam a couple of minutes.teparate the leaves.
- Mix together hamburger, browned
- slightly, sausage, salt, spices, rice, egg and onion. Plunk
- large spoonfuls into each leaf and roll up. Put the chopped cabbage
- heart
- in bottom of a large pot.
- Top with cabbage rolls, seam side down.
- Pour V-8 juice and water over the top, bring
- to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover and barely simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
