Southern Comfort Sausage Cake(In Honor Of Princess Patty)
- 1 lb. lean sausage (uncooked)
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 1 1/2 c. dark raisins
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 c. black walnuts, chopped
- 1/4 c. Southern Comfort (whiskey)
- Bring the raisins and the water to a boil before adding to the other ingredients.
- Stir or mix with hands the sausage and light brown sugar together.
- Add the boiled raisins and water.
- Mix all the dry ingredients together and add to the sausage-raisins mixture alternately with the Southern Comfort.
- Then add the nuts. Stir all well and pour into a 9 x 13 x 2-inch Pyrex baking dish, or in a Bundt pan, well-greased and bake 1 hour (more or less) in a 375u0b0 preheated oven.
- When cake is done and cooled for perhaps 10 minutes one can pour a glaze over.
