Homemade Yogurt In A Thermos

  1. Fill Thermos with very hot water; set aside.
  2. Heat milk to temperature of 95u0b0 to 115u0b0 (use cooking thermometer as this temperature is very important:

  4. low
  5. -
  6. sours; too high -kills).
  7. Pour into bowl
  8. and
  9. add milk powder and yogurt;tix well.
  10. (Add optional
  11. gelatin at this point).
  12. Pour water from thermos and fill with yogurt mixture.
  13. Tightly cap lid and set aside; note time.
  14. After 3 hours, you should have thin yogurt; after 6 hours,
  15. thick
  16. yogurt.
  17. Pour
  18. small
  19. amount first into small jar to use
  20. as a starter next time.
  21. Pour remainder into container and refrigerate.
