French Casserole

  1. Saute bacon in a large pan until fat starts to cook out. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  2. Shape ground beef in a large patty.
  3. Brown for 5 minutes on each side in same pan.
  4. Pour off drippings, then break meat into chunks.
  5. Stir beans, carrots and tomatoes into meat.
  6. Add seasonings.
  7. Heat to boiling.
  8. Spoon into a 10-cup baking dish.
  9. Place bacon on top.
  10. Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour.
  11. Makes 8 servings.
