French Onion Soup
- 1/2 stick butter
- 3/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 1/2 lb. onions, sliced
- 2 cans beef broth
- 4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 tsp. curry powder
- 6 slices French bread (thick)
- 6 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 1/3 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. Mozzarella cheese
- Butter each slice of bread; sprinkle with garlic and bake until brown.
- Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
- Set aside. Separate onions into rings.
- Saute in butter in Dutch oven over medium heat for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Add broth and remaining ingredients, except Mozzarella cheese.
- Cover.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Serve with toasted bread on top of soup with Mozzarella cheese on top and microwave until cheese melts.
