Theresa'S Homemade Donuts
- 4 cans biscuits (the less expensive ones work well)
- 1/2 can any lard (must be fresh unused lard)
- 1 box 10x powdered sugar
- Open biscuits.
- Lay out on counter or wax paper.
- Press lightly.
- With an object cut out the center of the biscuits (an old medicine bottle, Coke bottle, plastic cap or ketchup cap).
- Place oil in frying pan or pot.
- Do not heat up.
- Mix the box of powdered sugar with 1 cup of water and place in bowl next to pan with the oil.
- When you heat the oil you must be ready to complete the next few steps together.
- When the oil is heated enough place donut rounds into oil for 7 to 10 seconds on one side, then flip to the other side for same amount of time.
- If the oil is too hot, they will brown very quickly and not be done in the middle.
- If it is not hot enough and takes over 15 seconds on each side then they will absorb the oil and be soggy.
