Chocolate Almond Marble Pound Cake
- 1 1/4 c. Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. vegetable oil
- 3/4 tsp. almond extract
- 5 eggs
- 1 c. milk
- confectioners sugar
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Melt over hot (not boiling) water, 1/2 cup morsels.
- Stir until smooth; set aside.
- In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
- In large bowl, combine sugar, vegetable oil and almond extract; beat well.
- Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually beat in flour mixture alternately with milk.
- Divide batter in half.
- Stir melted morsels and remaining 3/4 cup morsels into 1/2 of batter; mix well.
- Pour 1/2 plain batter into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
- Top with 1/2 of chocolate batter. Repeat layers with remaining batters.
- Bake for 65 to 70 minutes. Cool 15 minutes; remove from pan.
- Cool completely on wire rack. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
