Chocolate Cookies

  1. Melt chocolate in microwave or in double boiler.
  2. Cream shortening and sugar.
  3. Add egg and beat well.
  4. Add melted chocolate and vanilla and mix well.
  5. Stir in broken nutmeats.
  6. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with sour milk.
  7. Shape into rolls on waxed paper; wrap.
  8. Chill thoroughly or overnight.
  9. Slice thin (1/4-inch or less).
  10. Bake slices on greased cookie sheet in 400u0b0 oven for 10 minutes.
  11. Makes 4 dozen.
