Green Eggs And Ham
- eggs
- diced ham
- salt to taste
- cooking spray or pat of butter or margarine
- blue food coloring
- 1 stone (very clean)
- 6 c. water
- 2 cans bouillon
- 2 lb. cans tomatoes
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 6 medium carrots, diced
- salt and pepper to taste
- 3 stalks celery, chopped
- 6 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 box frozen peas
- 1 box cut corn
- 1 box baby limas
- 4 c. cooked, diced meat (beef or chicken)
- Read story of Stone Soup to children.
- Place stone in water (large stock pot is needed).
- Add bouillon, tomatoes, onion and carrots.
- Cook 10 minutes.
- Add potatoes and celery and meat. After 10 minutes, add frozen vegetables, one box at a time.
- Allow soup to boil gently between each additional box of frozen vegetables.
- Cook on medium heat for 20 minutes, stirring often. Cut heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Makes large pot of soup to share.
- Children love to help cook this.
