Teddy Bear Cookies

  1. In large bowl, combine brown sugar and butter.
  2. Beat until fluffy.
  3. Add vanilla and eggs, blend well.
  4. In medium bowl, combine flour, oats and baking soda, mix well.
  5. Add to brown sugar mixture, blend well.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 hour for easier handling.
  7. Heat oven to 375.
  8. For each bear, form two 1/2 inch balls and one 1 1/2 inch ball.
  9. Place the large ball on ungreased cookie sheet.
  10. Place smaller ones on top to form ears.
  11. Flatten dough slightly.
  12. Crimp edges with fork.
  13. Repeat with remaining dough, placing large balls of dough 3 inches apart.
  14. Bake at 375 for 7 - 10 minutes or until light brown.
  15. Cool completely.
  16. To decorate, use small round tip on decorator icing/.
  17. Pipe icing on each cookie for eyes and mouth.
  18. For nose, use small amount of icing to secure candy coated chocolate piece on cookie.
  19. Let icing set before storing.
