Cindy'S Sweet-N-Sour Steak
- 1 1/2 to 2 lb. round steak
- 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 8 oz. and 3 Tbsp. water
- 4 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp. garlic
- 1/3 c. celery
- 1/3 c. green peppers
- 1 medium to large onion
- 1 (20 oz.) can chunk pineapple (unsweetened)
- 1/4 c. light Karo syrup
- 1/4 c. white vinegar
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- Heat oil in medium to hot skillet; add steak, cut into thin strips, and brown on all sides, stirring frequently.
- Lower heat; add celery and green peppers, cut into thin strips, and onion. Cook until celery is tender, but crunchy.
- Add pineapple, syrup, vinegar and 8 ounces water.
- Heat until bubbling.
- Mix cornstarch with 3 tablespoons water; pour into bubbling mix and stir until desired thickness.
- Pour over rice or noodles.
