Whole Grain Apple Crisp

  1. Prepare the oat flour by processing 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats in the food processor. (You can also buy oat flour at a health food store or possibly a grocery store.).
  2. Cut the 1/2 stick butter in half lengthwise, in half again, and then slice into small cubes. Turn on the food processor again and feed the cubes into the food processor while it is running.
  3. Cream the sugar and cinnamon into the oat mixture, then add the whole oats.
  4. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator while you prepare the apples.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350 and spray an 8 x 8-inch pan with cooking spray.
  6. After the apples have been peeled and sliced, spread them out in the 8 x 8-inch pan. Crumble the oat mixture on top.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes and serve warm.
